Information processed when you visit
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Namecheap, Inc. in the United States. Like most web servers, our hosting records technical information about each request—such as IP address, browser user-agent, page requested, referring page and time—for security, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. These logs are kept for a limited period according to our host’s practices.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure aggregate traffic: which pages are viewed, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, referring sites and engagement. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (for example _ga) in most regions. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We have not enabled Google advertising features, and we do not use analytics data to identify you.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: analytics storage is set to “denied” by default, so Google Analytics does not set analytics cookies for you; at most, cookieless, aggregate measurement signals are sent.
You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Search engine tools
We use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to monitor how the site appears in search results. These services report aggregate search data to us and do not add tracking code to your visit.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to reply and to correct errors you report, and we keep correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose and our records.
Links to other sites and affiliate links
Our pages link to external websites, which have their own privacy policies. If affiliate links (for example to Amazon) are added in future and you click one, the retailer may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Site administrators
WordPress sets login cookies only for site administrators who sign in. Ordinary visitors do not receive them.
How we use information
To operate, secure and improve the site; to understand which content is useful; and to respond to messages. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live—including under the GDPR/UK GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws such as California’s—you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Because we hold very little information that identifies you, many requests can be met by the opt-out and cookie controls above. To make a request, email contact@batterycaliber.com. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
This site is intended for adults planning electrical systems. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we limit the information we hold.
Changes
If our practices change—for example, if we add a contact form or newsletter—we will update this policy before the change takes effect and revise the effective date above.
