Terms of Use

The scope, responsibilities and limitations that apply when you use BatteryCaliber.

Effective 24 October 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of batterycaliber.com (the “Site”), operated by BatteryCaliber (“we”, “us”). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Educational planning tool only

The Site and its calculator provide preliminary, educational planning estimates of battery energy, nameplate capacity, DC load current and first-order copper cable voltage drop. The Site is not an installation specification, engineering design, inspection, or certification of compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), ABYC standards or any other code, standard or law. It does not determine conductor ampacity, overcurrent protection, fault current, interrupt ratings, grounding/bonding or equipment compatibility.

Do not purchase, install or energize a system solely on the basis of the Site’s results. Have your system designed, installed, inspected and commissioned by appropriately qualified professionals in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable rules.

2. No professional relationship

Using the Site, or emailing us, does not create an engineering, electrician, contractor, consultant or other professional relationship. We do not provide installation-specific advice.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the values you enter, for checking them against your equipment’s published specifications, and for your decisions and actions. Default and example values are illustrations, not specifications. Input ranges are software bounds, not safe operating ratings.

4. Accuracy and changes

We work to keep the formulas, documentation and references accurate and we publish them on the Methodology page, but estimates are simplified models and may contain errors or omissions. Real performance varies with products, temperature, age, wiring and operating conditions. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, and we may disable a feature while a reported problem is investigated.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BatteryCaliber and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of property, data, profits or use, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its estimates, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

7. External links and affiliate relationships

The Site links to third-party websites we do not control and for which we are not responsible. As an Amazon Associate BatteryCaliber earns from qualifying purchases; see the Affiliate Disclosure. Any purchase you make is a transaction between you and the retailer, subject to the retailer’s terms and the manufacturer’s warranty.

8. Intellectual property

The Site’s text, design, graphics and software are owned by BatteryCaliber or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use the calculator and print reports for your personal or internal planning purposes and share links to the Site. You may not copy, republish or redistribute substantial parts of the Site, or present its results as a certified design, without permission. Trademarks of third parties belong to their owners and are used only for identification.

9. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Site, interfere with its operation or security, attempt unauthorised access, or use automated means to scrape it at a volume that burdens the service.

10. Reporting errors

If you believe a result, formula or statement is wrong or unsafe, please email contact@batterycaliber.com with details. Safety-related reports are prioritised.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your place of residence mandatorily applies.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date above shows when they last changed. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
